Al-Khobar Attack! The kids, Paklang & Cu are there...!!!

Salam 'alaikum ya ikhwah wa akhawat,

In the hassle bussle of moving into new house, my family was shocked by a news sent by my cousin (11.55 pm, Sunday)...Amirah from Arab Saudi saying that they were now in seal as 'terorist' changed the calm atmosphere there!

Cu sealed in their home, Paklang in his office, as all my cousins at their school!
Oh my God...help them to survive.
[My grandma, Tok was the most worry person as she spelled around reciting Yasin, and other surah...doa to Allah to help them]

Luckily, by Monday morning...they sent a relieved msg that they all meet together again... however they can not stay at home, but to stay in hotel.

Cu called on Monday to calm Tok as Tok already 'nak demam' - biasalah, org tua. She said that they're ok living in hotel, and hopefully the 'terorist' do not attack Muslims as their target is Americans & British people! Cu said that the situation in Al-Khobar will be ok as soon as possible as some of 'them' already caught. (Hopefully!)

Yesterday (Tuesday) Paklang told that actually they still in dangerous as the 'terrorist' still in Al-Khobar. They still staying at hotel, and they will be come back to Malaysia asap as Passport renewal process prepared (application for renewal of passpost done in 3 months ago...still in process(?)). His family will stay in Malaysia for the mean time, as he will be the one to travel to Arab Saudi to deliver his job.

Aiman, my 9 years old cousin talked with my mum, Mama. His voice was so described his worry and sadness.
"Mami, Man takleh gi sekolah...ada 6 orang jahat. 6 org pencuri serang sekolah Man. Man kena duduk di rumah. Man nak balik Perlis la Mami. Abah said, we never come back to Arab Saudi!"
Sedihnya dengar suara Man yang manja tu! Ya Allah, selamatkanlah mereka.

I attached herewith the article composed by Muslims daughter, who stayed there in Al-Khobar (they are also not Saudian). The first article by my cousin's fren, and the second article wrote by my 13 years old cousin, Fatin Amirah.

FIRST TERRORIST ATTACKS IN KHOBAR!

Article by: Shikara Shahrin edited by: Atiqah Shahrin
Saturday,29th May 2004

7:45am- The first terrorist attack just happened in the Petroleum Centre and the Oasis Residential Resort in Al-Khobar,Saudi Arabia. Just a few minutes away from Atheib Village were I live and also close to a few major compound such as Al-Bustan, Euro Village and Al-Rushaid Village.

At the building, Mr Kapil Sign, a friend of my dad's and a worker in the Petroleum Centre had just finished his work and was getting ready to leave the building. As he was walking down to the elevator, he came across a panicked security guard who told him to run out. Not only did he ran out but also the security guards! They stopped the first car they saw and headed down town.

He reported that he had heard five gun shot during his way out. Uncomfermed reports says that a few people were killed!

Another person who had realise this tragic moment was Mrs Nusrah Hashim. She was just about to leave the compound to send her son to Kindergarden in Oasis. She was stopped by a guard who told her not to leave the compound as that place too was under attack.

Gun shots, police cars and Ambulance could ALL be heard from the house where we were in. Atiqah Shahrin was having breakfast while listening to the "music" made by the vehicals. Thank Allah too as we did not go to school today due to a major event yesterday leaving us tired and out of breath.

Other schools were also on holiday including The British International School of Al-Khobar(B.I.S.A.K) and Dhahran American Academy. Everyone is is on high high alert and are being careful.

By tomorrow drastic security measure should be taking place everywhere around the small city of Al-Khobar. Schools might be closed down again, security will get thougher in compounds, people will be told to stay in their houses for safety and more police, army men and security guards will be brought in.
Further news will be posted soon.

6.00 p.m. the same day (Saturday,29th May)- I am now stuck in school with my brothers and sister and my dad. We are just about to leave school because the gate is about to close. We are going to our friend's house cos OASIS Residential and the areas nearing it have been blocked because of the case happening. (We live in OASIS)

My dad told me according to the recent news on local and international TV and the near people who had been calling him: OASIS Soha had been taken over by loads of terrorists long before, can't be sure exactly how many. People's house had been 'barged' in by terrorists, they threatened people thereand took hostages. Helicopters, police cars, armies and whatever else are surrounding Soha.

The hostages are kept in the Casa Mia restaurant, not knowing how many hostages there are but loads and I mean loads of terrorists are still guarding that place. 5 lebanese hostages had been released now (alhamdulillah:thank God!). They are shivering out of their fears, probably thinking that thay are still kept hostage because of this nightmare they had.

Long before this incident happened, I was told that 2 other compounds had been attacked as well, Al-Bustan and a compound behind Giant Stores (don't know what the name is). Most probably these compouds are safe now. Moreover, 11 people had been killed cruely for the last, what, 10 hours or so.

For those who had been shot dead, I am sorry that their life had ended this way (Hey!who wants their life to end up being shot by a terrorist huh?). And I hope that those who's house had been entered by meddling, totally unwelcomed 'visitors' that they would soon get over their fears eventhough it is still not over. At least they are not shot or held hostages!!

Please people out there.Be happy for what you have now and appreciate it as though your life would end by the minute (Allah S.W.T forbid that). I had a feeling last night that something bad would happen and I couldn't sleep until half an hour. However, I would've never thought that to day would be like this. You have no idea how worried I was when I heard about my compound taken over. I burst into tears, but just a little to hold myself. So please, pray that everything would be OK soon.....

Truly,

Amirah

Ya Allah, save them and Muslims there! Let the non-muslims be the only victims!
